JAK ALNWICK Handed his first minutes since making the move from Port Vale in January. Had the odd shaky moment but made a couple of stops. Will be frustrated not to get a clean sheet on his debut. 6

JAMES TAVERNIER Didn’t have the best start as St Johnstone threatened early on but improved defensively and showed his attacking talents with some neat footwork to set up Toral. 6

AIDAN WILSON Youngster kept his place in the team after making his debut against Aberdeen in midweek. Can be pleased with another decent showing here and will benefit from the game time. 6

DAVID BATES Hasn’t shown enough to prove he should be a starter next season but has done well enough overall since making the step up to the first team. Not at his best as Saints created a handful of chances. 6

MYLES BEERMAN Struggled in the opening exchanges as the Saints started brightly. Improved after the break but it was another difficult afternoon for the left-back. 6

JAMIE BARJONAS Deserved his first start for the Gers after substitute appearances against Partick Thistle, Hearts and Aberdeen. Didn’t look out of place in the middle of the park as he showed his promise once again. 6

JON TORAL The Spaniard will return to Arsenal after an indifferent loan spell but he at least bowed out on a positive note. Kept his composure to convert Tavernier’s cross and clinch the points for the Gers. 7

JOSH WINDASS Shifted from his usual central berth to the left side of the Rangers midfield. Tried to get involved but a low shot in the first half was as close as he came to finding the net. 6

JASON HOLT Helped marshal his young midfield partner Barjonas through the game. Put in a shift and covered a lot of ground once again. 6

MARTYN WAGHORN Back in the team after his consolation strike against Aberdeen but had few chances to add to his tally. Played a crucial role in the Gers’ opener, though, as he picked out Miller. 6

KENNY MILLER Stepped up to the plate when needed once again as he fired Caixinha’s side into the lead late in the first half. A key figure throughout for Rangers. 8
