Kieran Tierney has insisted that Celtic won’t down tools now as they push on for a treble.

Brendan Rodgers’ side made their own bit of history yesterday afternoon after becoming Invincibles – but Tierney has maintained that the party won’t kick in just yet.

“It is a great achievement and we are really proud of it but we still have our focus on the Cup final,” said the full-back. “We all enjoyed yesterday and the chance to go out and have a party with our own fans but I don’t think there is anyone here that thinks it is over for us yet.

“We have a chance to go and get the Scotttish Cup now and this week will be like every other week this season – we will be working hard and pushing to put in the best performances that we can.”

Tierney has admitted that he wondered whether or not Celtic would succeed in going through the season unbeaten, but believes that the ambition next term will be to keep it going again.

“The manager is never going to let us drop the ball,” he smiled. “It has been relentless and that is the way that we want it to.

“Now the challenge will be to go out and do it all over again. I don’t know when I believed that we might do. I just tried to keep going into each game and I didn’t really want to think about it too much.

“It is nice to know that we will be remembered for it but it isn’t the only thing that we want to be remembered for. There is still so much more for us to aim for here before the season finishes.

Aberdeen won 6-0 yesterday so they will be coming to Hampden feeling pretty good about themselves. It is up to us to make sure that we go into that game with the same attitude that we have had all season.”

The full-back has also praised Rodgers for the way in which he has engineered an unblemished domestic season.

“He has been brilliant for me and brilliant for the team,” he said. “I think we all knew he was a top quality manager but he has taken the pressure off the players and just allowed us to concentrate on getting better.

“I feel that I have learned my position so much better this season, I have a greater technical understanding and he has really helped me to develop. I can’t thank him enough. To be able to play and be part of a season like that is so special and it never gets tired.

“You can never get enough of being able to go and experience days like that yesterday. It is what drives us and we want the same again at Hampden next weekend. That is the way that we want to end the season.”
