FORMER Celtic boss Ronny Deila has paid tribute to his old side and insisted it’s been their best season in their history.
The Scottish champions became the Invincibles in Deila’s successor Brendan Rodgers’ first season in charge.
The Norwegian coach is now in charge of Oslo side Valerenga after quitting the Parkhead side in the summer, after clinching two titles.
But this season, Rodgers has taken the Hoops to a new level after going through the entire season undefeated and raking up a new points and goals record.
And Deila has been quick to recognise the success of his former club.
He said: “I think this has been Celtic’s best season ever. I am delighted at their success.
“Of course, I still have many, many friends and acquaintances in Glasgow, so I am thrilled for them and pleased for everyone at the club.”
As well as the two titles secured, Deila also won a League Cup during his time in Glasgow.
