Brendan Rodgers is believed to be keen on taking Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes to Celtic Park this summer.

The 29-year-old netted the opening goal against Celtic in the William Hill Scottish Cup final on Saturday afternoon, a goal that capped an impressive season at Pittodrie.

Hayes, also watched by Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp at the weekend, was taken to Reading as a 16-year-old when Rodgers was at the club.

The Irishman is contracted to Aberdeen until 2019 after agreeing a new deal earlier this year but if Celtic were to table a serious bid for the player, Aberdeen would find it difficult to turn down an offer for Hayes.

With Patrick Roberts going back to Manchester City, Stuart Armstrong still out of contract and Gary Mackay-Steven believed to be wanted by Blackburn and Sheffield United, Rodgers will look to bring in one other wide player this summer.

Ryan Christie has had a productive loan spell at Pittodrie since heading north in the January transfer window and it could be that the former Inverness forward is used as leverage in any prospective deal.

Mackay-Steven still has two years on his current deal at Celtic but has been a bit part player under Rodgers this season.

The Parkhead side knocked back a loan move for the player in January but both Blackburn and Sheffield are keen on a season-long deal for next term.
