Scott Sinclair has insisted that Celtic’s relentless streak has not been curbed by an Invincible treble-winning season.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have swept all before them as they have gone through a 47-game unbeaten run, a journey that concluded with a dramatic last-gasp winner at Hampden on Saturday afternoon that delivered the final piece of Treble.

And Sinclair, who has been pivotal to the way that Celtic have played with pace and aggression this season, has insisted that the Parkhead side will look to pick up where they left off.

“We can get better,” said Sinclair. “There is always room for improvement. We are still hungry. We want to keep on improving, keep striving to get to another level again.

“The manager will have a plan, he will know what our goals are and it is up to us to go out and try to meet them.

“But for now, we want to enjoy the moment. It is important that we get the chance to reflect on this because I think it is a really special season. I am not from Scotland, I didn’t know before coming here that Celtic had only won a Treble three times in their history.

“But I certainly knew about it over the last few months! I am just thrilled to be a part of it. It has felt so special but we have kept our focus, kept our discipline and got our rewards.

“But don’t worry, we won’t be sitting on our laurels or anything like that. We’ll come back with every intention of going out and doing it all over again.”

Sinclair claimed the Player of the Year award from the club, from his fellow professionals and from the Scottish Football Writers’ this season after a campaign in which he has been a stand-out.

And the 28-year-old Englishman has insisted that this term has surpassed every ambition he had when he first arrived in Glasgow last August.

“I didn’t have high expectations when I came to Celtic,” he said. “I just wanted to get my confidence back, get my career back on track and play under a manager who had faith and belief in me and I could never have envisaged that it would go as well as it has.”

Amid the personal accolades and the three pieces of silverware to show from this season, Sinclair was insistent that the Hoops support should savour the moment as much as those at the club.

“It is such a massive club and it is just a joy to come here and play here,” he said. “This is for us because we have worked so hard but it is not just for us – the supporters backed me from the first minute I got here, they are there every week and this is for them too.

“They deserve to enjoy every minute of it because they have been behind us all the way.

“It has been extraordinary. In some ways, I wish it wasn’t ending. But we’ll get a rest and come back refreshed and ready to go. But for now, I think we will get the chance to enjoy the party.”
