Jonatan Johansson has been tipped to be a key figure in the future of Rangers.
That was the message from Simo Valakari who has both played and worked with the Ibrox assistant coach in the Finnish national team.
It is in the international set up where the pair were brought back together in January to try and steer their country to a World Cup finals.
Johansson of course left this duty early to take up a place in Pedro Caixinha's backroom staff.
But speaking about his former colleague, Valakari told SportTimes: "It's a great move for Jonatan. I played with him and coached with him at the international team.
"He's a great coach. First of a all he's a brilliant guy and so reliable. He loves Rangers Football Club.
"Jonatan wants to improve as a coach and he will bring his knowledge of the Scottish game, his striker knowledge, to help Pedro Caixinha.
"He's a big part of the future of Rangers football club.
