THERE are few Rangers supporters that will be sad to see Joe Garner leave Ibrox and now Pedro Caixinha will hope that another handful follow him out of the club.

Some of the fans did take to Joe and he became a bit of a cult hero earlier in the season but he has been disappointing and I don’t think too many will be upset to see him join Ipswich Town.

He gave his all, he put himself about and he caused defenders problems at times. But when you are a striker at Rangers you have to score goals, and Joe didn’t do that often enough.

His return of ten goals in his first season clearly wasn’t enough to convince the fans or Pedro that he deserved another crack at it next year at Ibrox.

The manager obviously feels that he is surplus to requirements and that he won’t be part of his plans for next season. So it makes sense for Joe to leave and to start afresh at Portman Road.

There are a number of players that are out of favour and been told that they can find new clubs this summer, even though they still have a couple of years on their deals.

Pedro will be keen to get those that aren’t in his plans out the door as quickly as possible. You don’t want players hanging about the club because that is no use to anybody.

Clint Hill, Philippe Senderos, Emerson Hyndman and Jon Toral are away already at the end of their respective deals.

Hopefully there are a few more to add to that list over the next couple of weeks as the squad takes shape for the new season.
