ABERDEEN have confirmed the arrival of Birmingham City forward Greg Stewart on a season-long loan deal.

The 27-year-old joined the English Championship side last summer after impressing with Dundee in the Scottish top-flight, but failed to score in 21 appearances for the Blues last season.

Stewart becomes Derek McInnes' third summer signing, following the arrivals of Greg Tansey from Inverness and Ryan Christie on loan from Celtic

The Dons boss was happy to strengthen his squad for the 2017/18 campaign with a player who has twice been nominated for the PFA Scotland player of the year award.

"Greg is a player who I have admired for a while and I am delighted he has joined us for the challenge ahead," McInnes told afc.co.uk.
