THE opinions of Ipswich Town fans are split after Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers admitted an interest in young midfielder Kundai Benyu.
The Hoops have been linked with a move for the 19-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Aldershot Town in the National League.
Celtic boss Rodgers admitted there is interest from Parkhead, saying: “He’s a young player there’s a possibility with.
“It would be a project for the club. He’s a highly talented and gifted player.

“Not one for now but one, with development, is a possibility. Our scouts have had a look and he’s a talent. So if it’s something we can do we will. I have to look to the future as well as the here and now.”
The news was met with a mixed reaction on social media, with some fans of the Championship club frustrated at losing the highly-rated youngster and others happy to see the back of a player regarded to have attitude problems.
Jake Miller said: "I was so, so impressed the first time I saw Kundai Benyu play, and am sure he will make a career for himself, but clearly there's an issue with the kid and as good as he may have been last season, it was only the conference."
Curty FM had no doubts about the midfielder's talent, saying: "Was a class above in the conference last year. Hell of a step up so soon but definitely capable."
However, not everyone was reluctant to see him go, with David Jaye offering a harder stance: "Benyu leaving = good! If he has a poor attitude and can't agree terms after a contract was offered good riddance!"

An issue with the kid, and as good as he may have been last season, it was only the conference. Always a shame to lose talented kids.. #itfc

And he clearly could be one to haunt us, but we've got a few young players better than him in his position already. Can't bend over for him

A lot of my mates who are Ipswich fans annoyed that Kundai Benyu is being allowed to leave. Sounds like another talent lost under MM

If attitude is the problem, then #itfc probably didn't have a choice. But wouldn't surprise me if he tears it up at Celtic & then goes to PL https://t.co/eUBdOBBVnD
