RANGERS winger Barrie McKay is set to clinch a deal with Nottingham Forest.
SportTimes revealed on Monday that the winger was attracting interest from former boss Mark Warburton and Championship rivals Cardiff City.
And it is Warburton who has won the race to sign the 22-year-old this summer.
McKay has fallen out of favour at Ibrox in recent weeks and was told to train with the Light Blues’ Under-20s by manager Pedro Caixinha.
The forward turned down a new contract offer earlier this year and Rangers have now decided to cash in rather than let him potentially agree a Bosman switch in January.
Boss Caixinha refused to discuss McKay’s situation ahead of the Europa League clash with Progres Niederkorn tonight.
And the Scotland international is now on the brink of a move to the City Ground to be reunited with Warburton and assistant David Weir.
