CRAIG GORDON (6) A statue in lime green, he could have been replaced with an OAP lollipop man for all he had to do.

MIKAEL LUSTIG (6) Like both his defensive counterparts, quite possibly the easiest shift of his life. A little lackadaisical in the first half as Andy Mitchell got the better of him a couple of times, but nothing to write home about.

JOZO SIMUNOVIC (7) The lone centre-half for Celtic with Erik Sviatchenko dropped to the bench. The big fella mopped everything that came his way.

KIERAN TIERNEY (7) Enjoyed his role in bombing forward when he could. The Scotland internationalist seemed keen to get in on the goals with three speculative efforts from long range, the last of the trio bringing a panicked save from Roy Carroll.

JAMES FORREST (6) Deployed down the right-hand side by Brendan Rodgers, had the tough task of trying to break through a loaded defence. Did good work while drifting in from out wide.

CALLUM MCGREGOR (6) Industrious as ever in the middle of the park, saw plenty of the ball and got stuck in as play often broke into a scrappy affair on the edge of the Linfield box.

SCOTT BROWN (7) Had a swagger like Jagger throughout the game. Took a fair few clatters as Linfield’s players take exception to his confidence, but it was still a professional display from the Celtic captain.

OLIVIER NTCHAM (7) Making his competitive debut, the former Manchester City man had a hand in the build up to two of Celtic’s goals on what was a stroll in the park. Looks a real find.

TOM ROGIC (7) The man who has shone so brightly in the shimmering gold of Australia was at it again in green and white. Sent a long drive inches wide just short of the half hour, found his range just after the break with another humdinger.

SCOTT SINCLAIR (8) The man of the match by a distance. Showed great instinct with both his goals, and looked like his old self. Should have had a hat-trick but was denied by the crossbar.

MOUSSA DEMBELE (6) Had a bullet header somehow saved by Carroll, later missed when through one on one with the keeper. Still not quite match sharp but will come with time.

SUBSTITUTES

STUART ARMSTRONG (6) On for Ntcham on 67 minutes. One of the men of the moment marked his cameo appearance with a fine finish at the death.

JONNY HAYES (5) on for Forrest on 67 minutes. Was busy and brought fresh impetus. Unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.

KUNDAI BENYU (5) on for McGregor on 74 minutes. Tried to get involved but Celtic had the cigars out by this stage.
