Ronny Deila will be backing Celtic to beat Norwegian outfit Rosenborg according to their gaffer Kare Ingebrigsten.
The former Hoops boss was approached for intel on the Scottish champions by the man plotting Celtic’s Champions League downfall on Wednesday night but Ingebrigsten confessed he’s not sure if he can trust the man who guided the Parkhead club to two league titles.
Deila spoke to SportTimes last week about his willingness to speak to both Ingebrigsten and Brendan Rodgers to give the lowdown on both sides.
And speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ingebrigsten admitted he had indeed been in touch with the man now in charge at Valerenga in his homeland.
“I spoke to Ronny Deila but I can’t tell you what he said,” laughed the Norwegian. “He didn't give me much.
“I think he is more of a fan of Celtic than of Rosenborg so I don’t trust what he said to me.
“But it was more about what we can expect at Celtic Park. He told me about these kind of things. The rest of it, he just told me to do my job.”
Rosenborg captain Mike Jensen reckons the key to his team prevailing in Glasgow will be to show courage in the opening stages at a super-charged Parkhead.
He said: “It’s a big challenge for us. They are the maybe the best team we have played for a long time.
“We need to be strong in defence and attack, we will have chances and I hope we have the courage to take them. We will have a go. It’s not in our style to sit back.
“Courage is the key word for us. They will come out with a lot of energy and we need to handle that early pressure.”
