PEDRO CAIXINHA was pleased to see Martyn Waghorn get a reward for his efforts after he netted the winner against Watford on Wednesday.
The striker had to watch on from the bench as Kenny Miller and Eduardo Herrera were given the nod against Marseille at the weekend before Alfredo Morelos was introduced in the second half.
Boss Caixinha made just two changes for the Hornets test this week as Jak Alnwick replaced Wes Foderingham in goal and Josh Windass took over from midfielder Niko Kranjcar.
But Waghorn made the most of his chance to impress as he stepped off the bench to hit a late winner after Jason Holt’s opener was cancelled out.
Caixinha told RangersTV: “Martyn is a hard-worker who always gives his maximum. He is a guy we like a lot and it is always important for the strikers to score goals to get their confidence levels up as well.”
