SCOTLAND full-back Andy Robertson has been praised by teammate Joel Matip after impressing during his debut for the Reds on Saturday.
The former Hull City and Dundee United defender played the full 90 minutes for Jurgen Klopp's side as they recorded a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Anfield.
Robertson completed a £10m move from the Tigers this summer following their relegation from the top-flight and his defensive partner Matip said the 23-year-old has needed little assistance in adjusting to his new surroundings.
He told liverpoolfc.com: "He played really good. His situations were really clear offensively and defensively, and you couldn’t tell that it was his first game. He really played like he had played there a long, long time.
“As a defence, we try to help every teammate, it’s not something special for when a new player comes in. You try to help every player, your teammates – but he did very well without needing much help.”
