CELTIC captain Scott Brown and centre-back Jozo Simunovic have signed new contracts with the Parkhead club.

The skipper has put pen to paper on a two-year deal that will tie him to the club until the summer of 2019.

Defender Simunovic, who arrived in Glasgow from Dinamo Zagreb in 2015, has committed his future to the champions with a four-year contract.

Both players are set to feature for the Hoops when they open their Champions League campaign against Paris Saint-Germain at Celtic Park on Tuesday.

Brown has been at the club for 10 years since making the move from Hibernian in 2007.

The 32-year-old, who is approaching 300 appearances in green and white, has led the club to seven league titles, three Scottish Cups and three League Cups during his time with the Bhoys.

Brown was named in the PFA Scotland team of the year last season after captaining the club through an unbeaten domestic treble-winning season.

Simunovic came close to leaving the club last summer but eventually remained in Scotland to play a key role in their successful first season under Brendan Rodgers.

The 23-year-old has already made eight appearances this season between the Champions League and Premiership
