Craig Gordon

He made one terrific save from Alfredo Morelos, caught ever high ball which came into his box and even started the move which led to Leigh Griffiths’s killer goal. There wasn’t much more the goalkeeper could have done. 8

Mikael Lustig

Was given a hard first half hour by Josh Windass but went on to have a steady game in which he finished strongly. Once Rangers dropped out of the game, the Swede played more of an attacking midfielder than defender and thoroughly enjoyed himself. 7

Jozo Simunovic

The big fella absolutely strolled this. Made some great blocks and interventions when he had to, not that there was much to do, and hardly lost a ball in the air. He even played a part in the opening goal. 7

Dedryck Boyata

Aside from a stray pass or two, the Belgian showed once again what a fine centre-half he has become. Hardly gave Morelos a kick and, in fact, the Rangers striker showed his frustration with a bad challenge on his marker before half-time. It didn’t make a difference.

Kieran Tierney

There were times when he had two players, James Tavernier and Daniel Candeias to deal with but nothing bothers this remarkable 20-year-old. Spent most of the second-half playing one-twos with Scott Sinclair as if it were a training exercise. 8

Scott Brown

The best man on the pitch. Again. His day began with a brilliant dribble, drag-back and pass. The captain's performance didn’t dip from there. He noised up the Rangers manager and supporters while bossing the midfield. Job done. 9

Stuart Armstrong

Took his time to get into the game but once he did ran with the ball past blue jerseys almost at will. Showed a good range of passing and had a few shots on target, although he did slip a few times. 7

Partick Roberts

There were two sometimes three players on the winger every time he got on the ball, which was a lot, but he beat them most of the time and his pass for the second goal was inch-perfect. Justified being picked ahead of James Forrest.

Tom Rogic

Almost scored within 30 seconds and he seemed to operate where he wanted to in the first half hour. Got his goal, a fine instinctive effort, and ran out of juice before being subbed. 7

Scott Sinclair

Not his best day, as it so happens, but he still had the beating of Tavernier who must hate the sight of a man who has become his nemesis. Came close a few times to another derby goal. By the end he was dribbling past players for fun. 7

Leigh Griffiths

He is a scoundrel but one that can play football. And, boy, can this guy finish. His goal was superb and the Celtic fans enjoyed the celebrations. Never stopped working all day and his running off the ball proved a nightmare for the Rangers defence. 8

Substitutes

Callum McGregor

Got involved right away as he had a hand in the second goal two minutes after his introduction. Brought energy to his team. 6

James Forrest

Took over from where Roberts left off which was tormenting Tavernier. 6

Moussa Dembele

Tried his best to get a goal and came within a few inches of doing so in the final minute. 5
