ST Johnstone defender Richard Foster will be suspended for the Premiership clash against his former club Rangers after kicking a referee's door.

The Scottish Football Association ruled that the 32-year-old was guilty of 'excessive misconduct' for the act, which took place after Saints' 3-2 defeat to Dundee at Dens Park on 19 September.

Referee Alan Muir awarded the hosts a penalty for Foster's foul on A-Jay Leitch-Smith, a decision which resulted in the winning goal.

Foster will now miss the clash with Rangers, who he represented for two seasons from 2013-2015, on 13 October as well as his club's trip to Hearts a week later.

The defender hit the headlines last season after picking up a two-match suspension and fine for brawling with teammate Danny Swanson during a game against Hamilton Accies.
