Scott Brown, Stuart Armstrong and Jozo Simunovic have all been declared fit for next week’s UEFA Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

Brown and Armstrong were missing for Scotland’s crucial double header last week and while they will not make Saturday’s league meeting with Dundee, Rodgers expects that they will be back for the trip to Munich.

Celtic take on Bayern Munich in their third game of their Champions League group campaign on Wednesday night and the return of both Armstrong and the influential Brown is a massive boost for Brendan Rodgers.

“Scott and Stuart will train today [Friday] and, although it’ll be too early for Dundee, most definitely for Bayern Munich.”

Simunovic also tweaked his hamstring, although despite reports from the Bosnia camp, there has been no tear. That means he should be fit too and Rodgers believes that having a settled back line is key to Celtic as they head into a testing round of games.

Dedryck Boyata has just come back from a three-month lay-off and the Hoops boss is relived that he will have the chance to field his favoured defensive partnership against the significant riches of Bayern.

“Jozo is the same,” said Rodgers, who won the Manager of the Month award for September. “It wasn’t a tear he had. It was just a slight aggravation and he needed to strengthen it and stay here. They have come together and he’ll be fine for Munich.

“You see the impact of him and Boyata and what they give to the team when they play together, so that’s huge for us.

“It’s a big month of big games and you want your best players available.
