SIX years have passed since the last time Motherwell and Celtic met in a domestic cup final.

On that occasion, the Hoops lifted the 2011 Scottish Cup with a 3-0 win that came courtesy of goals from Ki Sung-yueng, Charlie Mulgrew and a Stephen Craigan own goal.

The Steelmen have a chance to get revenge for that result on Sunday when they face the champions at Hampden Park in the Betfred Cup final.

So what has happened to the 'Well side that lined up on that day?

The Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper departed ‘Well in 2013 to join Birmingham City. After two years with the Blues he secured a switch to the Premier League with West Ham United, where he made 22 top-flight appearances last season.

Now 30 years old, Randolph left the Hammers in the summer to join Championship side Middlesbrough for £5 million, where he has played every minute of their league campaign so far this season.Glasgow Times:

Stephen Craigan – Retired

Craigan hanged up his boots a year after the cup final defeat to Celtic and was awarded a testimonial match at Fir Park after nine years with the club.

Shaun Hutchinson - Millwall

The centre-back ended a five-year spell with ‘Well in 2014, moving south of the border to join Fulham on a two-year deal.

Gavin Gunning – Port Vale

Gunning was only on loan at Motherwell from Blackburn Rovers at the time of their cup run and returned to his parent club at the end of the season before being sold to Dundee United.

The defender spent three seasons at Tannadice and has since gone on a winding career path taking him through Birmingham City, Oldham Athletic, back to Dundee United, Greenock Morton, Grimsby Town and now Port Vale in the space of three years. He has made 13 League Two appearances at Vale since joining this summer.

Steven Hammell - Motherwell

Club legend Hammell remains at Motherwell six years on from their last cup final clash with Celtic, after being awarded a two-year contract extension in the summer of 2016.

His appearances are rare nowadays, with only one Premiership game this season under his belt, but the 35-year-old is now also tasked with inspiring the next generation by taking charge of the Under-15 side.

Tom Hateley – Free agent

Hateley left Motherwell in 2013 to join Tranmere Rovers, where he lasted just one season before moving to Polish outfit Slask Wroclaw. After two seasons in Poland, the midfielder returned to Scotland with Dundee, where he provided six assists in 28 appearances last season.

The 28-year-old departed Dens Park on the last day of the transfer window with the hope of securing a move to England, but is still looking for a new club as it stands.

Chris Humphrey - Bury

The Jamaican departed Fir Park in 2014 to join Preston North End and helped the club earn promotion to the Championship in his second season. After having his contract terminated in December 2016, Humphrey joined Hibernian for the second half of last season, where he scored once in 22 outings.

The winger left Easter Road in the summer to join Bury, where he has made 10 League One appearances this season.

Jamie Murphy – Brighton and Hove Albion

Murphy enjoyed a momentous achievement last season by helping Brighton achieve promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history. The 28-year-old has found opportunities limited in the top-flight, but played a key role in taking them up in his 35 appearances last term.

His move to Brighton came in 2015 after two seasons with Sheffield United, the club he joined on his exit from Motherwell in 2013.

John Sutton – St Mirren

Journeyman striker Sutton left Motherwell in the summer of 2011 in the immediate aftermath of their cup final disappointment. He spent two seasons with Hearts, with a loan spell at Australian side Central Coast Mariners in the middle, before returning to Fir Park for a second spell between 2013 and 2015.

Since then, Sutton has spent one campaign with St Johnstone before joining St Mirren in the summer of 2016, where he remains as the Paisley side push for a return to the top-flight of Scottish football.
