CELTIC striker Moussa Dembele has been nominated for the Best Young French Player of 2017 award.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a superb debut season under Brendan Rodgers, scoring 32 goals for the Hoops during 2016/17.

Injury stalled his momentum at the start of the new campaign, but the former Fulham man has returned in style recently with seven strikes in 14 games.

Dembele has now been shortlisted for the prestigious prize run by French football programme Telefoot, which is awarded to players aged 21 or under.

The nomination arrived a day after scoring against his boyhood club Paris Saint-Germain in Celtic's 7-1 Champions League defeat at the Parc des Princes.

The Bhoys star faces stiff competition from some of European football's most talented youngsters, including Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman, Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele, PSG starlet Kylian Mbappe and Manchester United forward Anthony Martial.
