GORDON: Will be disappointed with the Motherwell goal. The keeper seemed to hesitate when Richard Tait’s cross dropped into the box, allowing Elliot Frear to nick in and prod the ball into the net. Other than that had very little to do. (6)

LUSTIG: Usual shift at the back and helped to talk Norwegian Kid Kristoffer Ajer through the game. Had a volley that was saved as he got forward in support in the second period. (7)

AJER: Drafted in as Brendana Rodgers shifted the team around a little and put in a strong shift. Not afraid to venture forward and was up in attack a couple of times. Decent display from the teenager. (7)

BOYATA: Another who had little to do at the back but silenced any threat from Louis Moult. (7)

TIERNEY: Spent most of the game in attack rather than in defence. Was the provider with a number of balls into the box and almost got himself on the scoresheet with a rasping second-half effort that whizzed just past the post. (8)

BROWN: The first name into the book in the early stages. Took a fair few himself but ran the show in the middle of the park. (8)

NTCHAM: Played well in the central pastures and sprayed a number of impressive passes around. Had a cracking free-kick saved and peppered Carson’s goal with a number of attempts. Creative and perceptive. (8)

HAYES: One his best displays since arriving from Aberdeen. Will be expected to feature a little more now than Patrick Roberts is injured and played with more conviction and confidence than he has for much of his time at Celtic. Full of jinking moves and some dangerous balls into the box. (7)

ROGIC: Thought he had scored to give Celtic a 3-0 advantage but ‘goal’ was chopped off for offside. It was the right call but took an age for the linesman to call it. Drifted in and out of the game but quick feet too much for Motherwell at times. (7)

SINCLAIR: Laid on a goal and dangerous on the flank but took what appeared to be a significant kick to his ankle. Managed to play on but definitely took a dunt and was replaced shortly afterwards. (7)

EDOUARD: The first Celtic teenager since Brian McClair to net a league hat-trick for the Parkhead club. Looked elegant in the final third and took his goals well. Sharp and mobile and caused the Motherwell defence no end of problems. (8)

MCGREGOR: Arrived for the final 20 minutes and brought his usual energy and endeavour to the middle of the park. (6)

FORREST: Came to the game late but made his mark with two well taken goals. Is currently enjoying double figures for the first time in his Celtic career. Oozing confidence and belief in front of goal. (8)

ARMSTRONG: Little chance to make any real impact on the game after arriving for the final 12 minutes of the game. (4)
