DEDRYCK Boyata has urged the Celtic Park support to produce the noisiest atmosphere of the season during tonight’s final Champions League group stage clash against Anderlecht.

The Hoops will book a place in the Europa League knockout stages if they avoid losing by three goals or more against the Belgian champions, having triumphed 3-0 in Brussels back in September.

That result in Belgium gave Brendan Rodgers’ side their only points of the group stage so far, despite pushing Bayern Munich close in Glasgow on Halloween.

The German giants recorded a 2-1 win that night against a spirited Celtic and Boyata is determined to make amends for the defeat in front of a capacity crowd this evening.

“We are expecting the fans to be right behind us,” Boyata told Celtic’s matchday programme.

“They’ve always helped us when we needed them and the team know that will be the same when we meet Anderlecht.

“With the expectations around this game, I’m expecting the fans to be very loud and the atmosphere to be even better than it has been already this season. It makes a big difference when we have the backing of the fans.

“The atmosphere for the Bayern Munich game was special and playing in those kinds of games is something every footballer strives for. We weren’t able to get a result, though, so we want to make up for that tonight and we’ll give everything we have to do that.”
