DECLAN JOHN reckons a more patient approach paid dividends for Rangers as they came from behind to beat Ross County on Saturday.

The Light Blues made it three wins on the spin for the first time this season with a 2-1 success over the Staggies at Ibrox.

Victory over Owen Coyle’s side moved Rangers back above Aberdeen and into second place in the Premiership ahead of their clash with Hibernian on Wednesday night.

But the Gers had to work hard for it after Craig Curran silenced the home crowd and put the visitors ahead after just ten minutes.

Alfredo Morelos got Graeme Murty’s side back into it on the hour mark as he ended his long wait for a goal before Danny Wilson’s second header in two games clinched all three points.

After recording back-to-back wins over Aberdeen, it was a far poorer performance from Rangers but John was pleased to get over the line in the end.

“Going 1-0 down so early on made it tough to come back, and they played some good stuff, but we are really happy they got the win in the end,” he told RangersTV.

“[The message] was to go out and play with the ball more. I think in the first half, we were perhaps trying too hard in the final third at certain times and some passes were getting cut out.

“We needed to be a lot more patient on the ball, and I think in the second half we showed that.

“Coming off the back of the last two results – which were two massive results, but today was as well. Going down 1-0, we worked really hard in the second half to get that win.

“A lot of people were saying we haven’t won three games on the bounce since the start of the season, and there was a lot of pressure on us today to get that. Hopefully we can continue that now.”
