HAMILTON Academical defender Ioannis Skondras has been handed a five-match suspension for excessive misconduct.
The Greek was sent off towards the end of his side's fiery 3-2 win over Ross County on 16 December after appearing to throw punches at two Staggies players during a touchline melee as well as laying hands on referee Gavin Duncan.
A disciplinary panel decided on Thursday that the 27-year-old would be banned for five games, although he already served two of those ahead of the winter break as a result of his red card.
Skondras will now miss Accies' next two matches, with a further match to be imposed if he is guilty of excessive misconduct again before the end of the 2017/18 season.
Both clubs have also been hit with fines of up to £10,000 for the incident.
