GRAEME MURTY is pleased with the workout his Rangers squad have gone through during their stint in the United States.

The Light Blues spent several days at the IMG Academy in Bredenton before moving to Orlando for their Florida Cup matches.

Josh Windass netted the only goal of the game in the win over Atletico Mineiro on Thursday and the Gers will now face Corinthians at the Spectrum Stadium this afternoon.

Murty fielded two completely changed sides against Atletico and will give everyone in his squad a chance to impress in the second Brazilian test.

He said: “I sold it to the players as two high-intensity 45-minute sessions and that’s what it turned into. It was difficult for some of our guys who are not used to the humidity but it was really valuable in parts.

“Some of the younger guys got experience against South American opposition.

“IMG is a fantastic facility, I can’t speak highly enough of them and the welcome they gave us.

“The players really responded to some of the things I wanted to do. The spirit has been really good – leading up to and including the fact I got a bucket of ice thrown on my head the other day.

“It just shows they are in high spirits and hopefully we can lay down some really good foundations for the second half of the season.”

Murty handed January recruits Sean Goss and Jamie Murphy their Rangers bows at the Orlando City Stadium but he was without a number of key players through injury.

Lee Wallace, Graham Dorrans and Kenny Miller remain on the sidelines, while Bruno Alves is in Portugal for treatment.

Ryan Jack and Ross McCrorie also missed out and Murty wouldn’t be drawn on whether they will be fit for the Scottish Cup clash with Fraserburgh next weekend.

He said: “We will have to assess that, it is too soon for me to say. You know what I am like, I don’t want to say yes or no incase they feel pressure or they feel let down if they don’t make it. It will be what it will be when we get back.”
