I have said before that I would like to see a supporter on the board at Ibrox and Club 1872 are now looking to put a proposal forward to Rangers following a poll of their members.

The club have depended on the fans for many years now and, through all the problems on and off the field, the support has never wavered.

They have played a massive, massive part in the history of Rangers Football Club and I think they should have a say in the future as well. So, why not have a representative from Club 1872 on the board?

It is someone to put the fans’ concerns across, to have a view on the team and the where the club are going both on and off the park.

They can then communicate with the supporters and the fans know that their voice is being heard around the top table.

Who you pick to do that job is another story. That will be up to the members of Club 1872.

But I think it would be great for the fans to have a say in the running of the club and I don’t see that being a problem for the directors.

When it comes to the share issues over the next couple of years, the fans will have the chance to participate and will put their hands in their pockets once again.

They aren’t doing it as an investment or to get money back out of Rangers. They just want to do their bit to help.

Rangers is the institution that they have supported all their lives and they want to be as involved as they can.

If you are prepared to give that 100 per cent commitment to your football club, then I think that should be reciprocated from the board and there should be someone there to represent you.
