England were asked to bat first in the third one-day international against Australia, with the series on the line at the SCG.
Victory for the tourists would secure an unassailable 3-0 lead after wins in Melbourne and Brisbane.
England were unchanged but Australia made four changes – Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa and Tim Paine in for Andrew Tye, Jhye Richardson, Travis Head and Alex Carey.
England had a special guest on hand to award Joe Root his 100th cap, with rugby league star Sam Burgess making the presentation.
