Montpellier coach Michel Der Zakarian has been handed a three-match touchline ban for his recent sending-off against Lyon.
Der Zakarian was sent from the touchline in stoppage time in last week’s Coupe de France clash for repeatedly questioning referee Mikael Lesage’s decisions, including the award of Lyon’s penalty.
Nabil Fekir scored what proved to be the decisive goal from the spot and Der Zakarian said after the match that “the big clubs are often favoured”.
The suspension will prevent him taking his place on the bench for the March 4 Ligue 1 game against the same opponents, sandwiched in between matches against Strasbourg next Friday and Lille on March 10.
