Girona moved up to eighth place in LaLiga with a 3-0 victory over Leganes at Estadi Montilivi.
The hosts took the lead in the 23rd minute through Cristhian Stuani, who scored his 13th goal of the season with a penalty awarded for a handball by Martin Mantovani.
The advantage was then doubled 13 minutes later when a Girona break ended with Portu lashing a shot into the roof of the net.
Juanpe wrapped the victory up with five minutes of normal time remaining, sending a header bouncing past Ivan Cuellar after meeting Alex Granell’s corner.
Victory moved Girona up two places to within a point of seventh-placed Eibar, who host Barcelona on Saturday. Leganes remain in 12th position.
