Kieran Tierney has insisted that Celtic will give St Johnstone their full attention on Sunday afternoon before setting their sights on the return leg against Zenit St Petersburg.

"It was a great result but the minute the game has ended that is it," said the Scotland internationalist.

"We are up against St Johnstone on Sunday and we want to make sure that we get all three points and keep our momentum going.

"We have to give that our full attention before thinking about Zenit."

The Hoops full-back has also stressed that Celtic need to be mindful of just how finely balanced the tie is.

Celtic could argue that they have a full team of players currently in the treatment room but despite what was a skeletal squad, Celtic were able to produce an impressive display full of aggression and power against the Russian side.

"It’s half time but we did well," he said."We stuck to our game plan and it worked. Were they rusty? You could maybe say that. We were straight into the Champions League qualifiers and it’s tough.

"But they will have another 90 minutes under their belt and they will be sharper.

"I thought we played really well tonight. We defended well and limited Zenit as much as we could. And we were dangerous up front and finally got the goal.

"It’s great for the club."
