JOSH WINDASS has got a bit of praise recently and he celebrated his new three-and-a-half year contract by scoring a hat-trick in the win over Hamilton.

But he will know, and Graeme Murty will know, that there must be a lot more to come if he is really going to establish himself at Rangers.

You can only perform against the opposition that are in front of you and you take nothing away from him after his performances in the last few weeks.

My problem with Josh, though, has been his consistency levels, or lack of them. He can be brilliant for ten minutes and then disappear for half an hour in matches.

He needs to be at the top of his game more often and, fair play to him, he has shown that he may be able to do that over the last handful of games.

Graeme clearly rates him as a player and feels that he can produce for Rangers and it will do Josh no harm having a manager that not only believes in him but that will keep pushing him.

He has almost a free role in the team right now playing in that position just off the striker. He can go anywhere he wants and do anything he wants and there is no doubt he is in the best form of his Ibrox career.

He has been involved a lot more in recent weeks and, importantly, he is getting the goals as well and nine in five is a terrific return for him.

There are still question marks over him but he can answer a few of them in the fixtures that Rangers have coming up and now that we are at the business end of the season.

This is when you need your big players to perform and if Josh sees himself as a big player for Rangers then he needs to keep up his current form in the cup games, the Old Firm games and the post-split games.
