JASON HOLT admits Rangers will head into their Old Firm showdown full of confidence after an impressive recent run of form.

The Light Blues have won their last half-a-dozen matches in all competitions as they have moved into the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup and to within six points of Celtic in the Premiership.

Now Graeme Murty’s side have their sights firmly fixed on their Glasgow rivals as the countdown continues to Sunday’s derby clash at Ibrox.

Some Gers fans have started dreaming about a potential title challenge if Murty can lead his side to Old Firm victory at the third time of asking.

And midfielder Holt is determined to maintain the feelgood factor and set up a dramatic final few weeks of the campaign.

“I think since we have come back from Florida there has been a good mood about the camp, really good spirits and we are going in the right direction,” he told the Official Rangers Podcast. “I think the results have shown that.

“[The management team] bring a real positive vibe to the training group and that transfers into the players and the way we train and play. Hopefully that continues in a positive fashion.

“Two times we have been to Celtic Park and played we have come away with a point and the game on [Sunday] will be a brilliant occasion back at Ibrox.

“We are looking forward to it and looking to go and get a positive result.

“I think [we will go into it with confidence]. The way the results have went and the performances that we have put in and some of the moves forward and goals that we have scored have been really positive.

“It will be something that we will look to take into the game and we will be going in with confidence.”
