When Tom Rogic first arrived at Celtic he had a load of injury issues and seemed to come in to the team before drifting back out again.

It has only been in recent seasons that we have seen a more consistent run of form from him although obviously he had a wee spell out of the team this term.

The goal he scored on Sunday at Ibrox was exceptional. It was a truly outstanding finish from him and it that kind of standard that we have come to expect from him.

The goal in last season’s Scottish Cup final will always come to the fore when we talk about Rogic – he truly imprinted his name into the club with that one – but there have been many examples where he has shown that creativity.

He has that positivity whenever he bursts forward like that where you sense that something might happen. He is one of those who is capable of making something out of nothing and I cannot imagine that Celtic will want to lose him at the end of the season.

Rogic will be off to the World Cup with Australia this summer and as is often the case, the situation is more or less taken out of Celtic’s hands. If he wants to go and play there and then see what his options are after the tournament then there isn’t a great deal that Celtic can do in the meantime.

Talks are ongoing with the midfielder but if he wants to put himself in the shop window this summer then Celtic need to wait and see where it goes.
