STEVIE WOODS reckons the standards Brendan Rodgers has set at Celtic have helped improved him as a coach over the last two campaigns.
The former keeper has been part of the Hoops’ coaching staff since 2007 and he has worked under the guidance of several Parkhead bosses.
His services were retained when Rodgers and assistant Chris Davies were appointed in the East End last season and Woods is still relishing his role at Lennoxtown.

He said: “Massively. I have always had my own set standard way of doing things.
“I always felt that kept me slightly ahead of the curve as far as goalkeeping coaching is concerned.
“Since Brendan came in I realised I have to keep myself absolutely spot on it because the standards for everything he does are meticulous. He challenges you every day to make you a better coach.
“The way he conducts himself is the way I would like to be conducting myself as a coach and as a person.
“He raises that standard every day and that is something – one I have taken into Celtic and two I hope to bring in here.”
The arrival of Rodgers has taken Celtic to a new level domestically as they target a second successive Treble in the remaining weeks of the campaign.

The Northern Irishman has also delivered Champions League football in both of his seasons at the helm as Celtic have returned to the top table of the European game.
And Woods now has a chance to use that experience to benefit Scotland after being named as part of Alex McLeish’s coaching staff alongside Peter Grant and James McFadden.
He said: “You never take them for granted. I think I’m here because the bread and butter of what I do every week gets you to the Champions League, I think that’s been recognised.
“I’m just hoping to transfer some of those things that have got us to that level with Celtic into what we do on a day to day basis with Scotland.”
