Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain has insisted that he feels settled at the club after a whirlwind few weeks.

Signed as emergency cover for the injured Craig Gordon on the final day of the January transfer window, Bain was thrown in at the deep end when he was handed his debut at Ibrox earlier this month.

With Dorus de Vries failing a late fitness test, Bain was handed the gloves and went on to keep them for Sunday’s trip to Fir Park. A number of clubs are believed to be monitoring Bain’s situation - his loan spell will terminate at the end of the season - and it remains to be seen if Celtic sign the player on a permanent basis.

“I feel comfortable at this football club and the boys have made me feel really comfortable since I’ve come here,” he told the Celtic View.

“That obviously helps straight away that you can be yourself and you can enjoy training every day, and you know the lads are confident in your ability and that you’re fully confident in theirs.

“Just being around the place and training every day to that standard makes the game a bit easier. The training here so intense and to such a high standard that it more than prepares you for the games.

“For that [the Rangers game] to be my first game, I thought I handled the occasion well and I really enjoyed it. The game had everything with the goals we scored, conceding a goal so early and getting a man sent off. It was good to be able to contribute and to be a part of it.”
