DECLAN John will today earn his first Wales cap since 2014 after being selected in the lineup for Ryan Giggs' first match in charge.
The 22-year-old former Cardiff left-back joined the Gers on loan at the start of the season before making his move permanent in December.
He has previously earned two caps for his country, against Macedonia and the Netherlands, but his last appearance came four years ago.
Giggs' side face the Chinese in the China Cup this afternoon, with Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, Stoke midfielder Joe Allen and Everton's Ashley Williams among the players selected for the Manchester United legend's debut as manager.
