FOR the first time in a long time, I am excited for a Scotland game and I am looking forward to seeing how we get on against Costa Rica tonight.
There won’t be a big crowd or a great atmosphere at Hampden.
But it is an important game for Alex McLeish as he begins his second spell as manager and it is a real chance for his players to catch the eye.
He has brought in a number of new faces to the squad for the game tonight and in Hungary and they will all be desperate to impress.
It is one thing playing well for your club, but there is a different pressure on you when you are representing your country and running out at Hampden. So, let’s see what they can do.
I hope we see players getting a good run-out under their belts over the next few days and I am excited to see how some of the new additions fare.
It is the start of a new era for Scotland. We failed once again last time out under Gordon Strachan things had to change.
I hope there is a fresh look about the side that Alex selects and it will be really interesting to see how we get on in his first match.
