WHAT a difference a week makes for Rangers and Graeme Murty.

Going into the Old Firm game, the players and the supporters were confident about their chances and people were talking about a potential title race.

Now, having lost the derby to Celtic and followed it up with a defeat to Kilmarnock at the weekend, there are doubts over the manager’s position and second place is the aim in the Premiership.

Graeme needed to see a real reaction from his side at Ibrox but he didn’t get it. It comes down to mentality, and that is a problem with this squad.

Rangers had their chances against Killie but they didn’t take them and to be beaten again at home is a scandal.

The seven losses equals our worst run since 1914/15 and that is an unwanted place in the record books for Graeme and his squad.

That record is just not good enough and there are no excuses.

I have said before that it takes a certain kind of character to be able to handle playing in front of 50,000 Rangers fans and too often this season the players haven’t been able to live up to the high standards expected of them at Ibrox.

The fixtures for after the Premiership split have still to be released and it has still to be confirmed who we will play away and who we will play at home.

I think Rangers should go for the five away games. They have more chances of winning all five if they don’t need to play at Ibrox!
