I have to say that I don’t quite subscribe to the theory that it has been a poor season for Scott Sinclair.

With 17 goals to his name, I think you have to see the bigger picture.

But I do wonder if some of what has gone on off the park may influence any decision this summer if he is given the opportunity to return south of the border.

There has been reported interest from clubs in Sinclair and given the fact that he is due another child then he may feel that being close to family is more important.

Only he will know but I certainly think there is still plenty for him to offer at Celtic.

He had an outstanding campaign last season in his first year at the club and I think because of the bar being so high, people are critical because he hasn’t being quite at the same level.

But I maintain that you would be hard pressed not to make a case for what he has done for Celtic.

He has had a fair bit of hassle off the pitch and you just wonder if that may feature in his thinking, assuming that he has a decision to make for him and his family this summer.

There is a wee bit of football still to be played between now and the finale to the campaign and he is one of those who will have benefitted from the breather over the international weeks.

It will be interesting to see just how he finishes the season off.
