RANGERS paid a fitting tribute to Ray Wilkins ahead of the win over Dundee on Saturday and the words from across the game really show what a player and a man he was.

Everyone has their own personal memory of Ray, whether that was a goal or a time that they met him.

For me, it was playing against him in a Reserve game when he was with Hibernian. I was just coming through at Motherwell and was up against him in the middle of the park.

He was taking me and showing me movements and the runs to make. He was playing against me but helping me get better.

He would run off me and shout ‘I am away, you need to be marking me’. I was only 16, maybe even younger, and it was a great education, absolutely brilliant.

That is my memory of him. I didn’t get to know him after that but I will never forget that day.

I was in awe of him and he will always be remembered by the Rangers fans for the goal he scored against Celtic at Ibrox. What a finish it was.

It was really sad to see someone like that go and my thoughts are with his friends and his family.
