GORDON Strachan knows a fair bit about silver linings. During his stint as Celtic manager, he shoved a few trophies into the trophy cabinet including a league and cup double in 2007.

Here in 2018, Brendan Rodgers, the incumbent of the hot seat, is still on course for the double-treble and he will look to take another step towards that particular feat in the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-
final with old foes Rangers on Sunday.

Should Celtic knock of another triple whammy of crowns, many will continue to ask just what is left for the manager to achieve, on the home front at least.

A treble-Treble, a quadruple-Treble, a quintuple-Treble? You get the idea. Then again?

“I’ve no idea,” responded Strachan. “I couldn’t tell you because I’ve never won everything and won everything again. You’d have to ask the manager who has won everything and won everything again.

“But when you win things I know for a fact you want even more of it. And the fear of not having it keeps you going.”

Strachan added: “It’s not been easy this year. It’s been harder.

Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths have been injured and last year anything that went into the box was going into the back of the net.

“The magic from these two has not been there as consistently as it was last year when one was out the other one stepped in. Rangers have been more of a threat. Hibs too.

“The league has been better this year in terms of competitiveness and Hearts have made it harder too with beating Celtic 4-0. Teams have made it hard for Celtic to produce.”
