THE SPFL were keen to avoid giving Celtic the chance to win the league against Rangers but, if it happens, it happens.

If you are a broadcaster that are paying millions of pounds for games, then surely that is the kind of fixture where you get your money’s worth?

If Celtic beat Hibernian in the first game after the split then they are champions. If they don’t, then we have the situation that the league didn’t want and they could win it against Rangers at home the following weekend.

If it does go down to that game, then I would like to think that Rangers would be well up for that one. They have done well at Parkhead under Graeme Murty, but that game would be the biggest one yet.

I think the SPFL and the Police were right not to make it the first one but if it does come down to the second fixture then what a game that will be.

If you are a Rangers player, what an incentive you have there. There is no way you want Celtic to win the league against you.

If it comes down to it, then so be it. It will be one the television companies would relish, and I would hope the Rangers squad would as well.
