I felt sorry for Andy Halliday on Sunday.

He didn’t play well but to get whipped off in an Old Firm game before half-time is not nice.

You could tell he was angry and maybe he will look back at the video of him coming off and realise that he shouldn’t have been shouting.

But emotion takes over in times like that.

I don’t want Halliday to be a scapegoat. It wasn’t his fault.

If the manager wants to change the shape, fair enough. But could he not have waited five minutes longer and done it at half-time? It was maybe Andy being hung out to dry.

The manager making the substitution at that stage was an admission that he got it wrong

The middle three didn’t play well. Graham Dorrans had to be aggressive but that is not his game, he is a ball player. He couldn’t play to his strengths.

Greg Docherty couldn’t get involved enough either and will be disappointed with his performance.

Halliday was the one that made way but it could have been done at the break. Then you can give any excuse for him coming off.

Doing it like that, it is not good for Halliday and it is not good on himself.
