GORDON: Put Jack Hendry in trouble in build-up to second goal with kick out. Had an early block from Florian Kamneri after Tom Rogic’s slack header on the edge of the box gifted Dylan McGeouch the ball. No real chance with either goal. (6)

HENDRY: Difficult afternoon for the defender. In fairness, he is not a natural right-back but he looked uncomfortable throughout and had a tough day trying to contain the energy and zip of Hibernian’s forward line. (6)

BOYATA: Seemed to sleep in the build-up to the opening goal. Caught out and was ill at ease for much of the day. Summed up what was an off day for the majority of the team. (6)

AJER: Tried on a couple of occasions to carry the ball out from the back in an attempt to spark a little life into Celtic. Still goes to ground quickly at times and leaves himself exposed defensively. One goal-line clearance that prevented Hibs taking a third goal. (6)

TIERNEY: Booked in the first-half and not his usual display. Tried to get forward in support but spent most of his day coping defensively as Hibs pushed Celtic back. (6)

MCGREGOR: Played in a more forward role but had little joy trying to unlock the Hibs defence. Did his fair share of defensive work given the manner in which the Hibs midfield were on top for most of the day. (6)

ROGIC: One lapse of concentration at the back that almost led to a third goal being conceded. Tried his luck on a couple of occasions at the other end with largely speculative efforts. (6)

BROWN: Never seemed comfortable. Was ill in the build-up to the game and looked burst by the end of it. Kept on his toes by the battling performance from John McGinn and Dylam McGeouch. (6)

NTCHAM: One of his poorest afternoons for Celtic. Hooked at the break. Seemed spooked by the manner in which the Hibs midfield didn’t allow Celtic to settle. (6)

FORREST: Nothing really came off for him on the flank. No shortage of industry but found himself pushed back at times. No real penetration. (6)

GRIFFITHS: Off the pace. Couldn’t get into the game and a couple of times he incurred the wrath of team-mates by making the wrong decision in front of goal. To be fair, striker still needs some game time after being out injured but toiled against his boyhood club. (5)

SINCLAIR: On at the interval as Celtic looked to find a way back into the game. Seems nervous, as one chance early in the second period showed. Jittery and ill at ease, completely in contrast to the manner in which he took last season by storm in Scotland. (5)

EDOUARD: Came on to clinch a late goal for the Parkhead sided. Took his strike well but by then there were minutes left on the clock and Celtic had left it too late to force their way back into the game. (6)

ROBERTS: Another replacement in the second period. Couple of nice touches but ultimately couldn’t inspire a late rally from Celtic. (5)
