A TITLE party is something most professional footballers will never experience in their careers, but Lewis Morgan could very well have two reasons to raise a glass along with a league trophy in the course of a week.

The winger scored as St Mirren topped off their Championship triumph in style with a win over rivals Morton last week, and he could be celebrating in the stand as parent club Celtic look to seal the Premiership title with a win over Rangers this afternoon.

He might even complete a dream hat-trick by lifting the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award tonight as well.

“I could have two parties to celebrate in a week and I wouldn’t have thought was possible at the start of the season,” Morgan said. “I would have bitten your hand off if you had offered me that – it has been a great season for both clubs.

“It would be great if Celtic could get over the line and get the historic double treble. Hopefully I will be able to get to the game. The PFA awards are that night so I will base my plans on that. I will be watching it even if I am not there and hopefully the boys can get the job done.”

Making the step up from the champions of the second tier to the champions of the Premiership will be a far from insignificant task, but Morgan sees the challenge of breaking into the Celtic first team as far from insurmountable.

Regular contact from his new manager, Brendan Rodgers, has given him plenty of cause for optimism that he is in the thoughts of his new boss for next season.

“I know I will need to fight for my place at Celtic and rightly so after how well they have done,” he said. “It is part of the challenge, but I wouldn’t have signed if I didn’t think I could get in the team.

“[Brendan Rodgers] is very busy with Celtic, but he has taken the time to get in touch to congratulate me on winning the league as well as praising me for my performances in certain games. He has told me I have been doing well and I really appreciate that. For him to send me messages means a lot."
