CARL MCHUGH admits losing the Scottish Cup was even tougher to take than Motherwell’s League Cup heartache.
The Steelmen lost a second Hampden final of the season to Celtic as Brendan Rodgers’ side clinched the Treble with a 2-0 victory.
It was a low point upon which to end a memorable campaign.
McHugh said: “We’re all devastated, we came here with full intentions to win the cup. We were better in the second half but we’ll be kicking ourselves about this for the next few weeks.
“When we lost the League Cup final we knew we still had games left to play, but this being the last game it’s harder. It’s very raw as you can imagine and hard to think rationally at the moment.
“We have made progress over the season on the pitch but that’s in no way a consolation right now.”
