Yesterday marked 15 years since we lost the UEFA Cup final to Porto in Seville.
I think people have mixed feelings about it but for me it was a huge success.
There were 80,000 people in Seville that night and it was sight that will always live with me – they were absolutely everywhere.

I was gutted not to play – I had a back injury – because I’d had a really good season and I had felt good. I had scored 25 goals, including the goal against Celta Vigo and that goal at Anfield against Liverpool but the fact that I had been at European finals before with Arsenal helped to take the edge off it a little bit. I think it would have been much worse if I hadn’t had that.
I always just remember that it was such a strange season. One minute we were going for four trophies and then the next we had ended up with nothing.

Henrik [Larsson] was outstanding that night. Funny, I saw him coming on at Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon during Scott Brown’s testimonial game and half fancied that he would still bag a hat-trick. He is still a class above.
