There is no-one who will decide Kieran Tierney’s future other than Kieran himself.

Like the really top players, he can pick what his next move will be – if he wants to move, that is.

He wears his heart on his sleeve and it is pretty obvious what it means to him to pull on the shirt that he grew up supporting and there are players for whom that is success in itself.

Guys like Steven Gerrard had options to go elsewhere but stayed to play for their team and who is to stay that isn’t the same with Kieran? Tony Adams spent all his years at Arsenal too.

It might get to the point where it is up to the club to match his ambitions and if they are bringing in quality players that are helping Celtic compete in Europe, then he might feel as though he can achieve what he wants to with the Parkhead side.

But at this moment in time I think it is a little bit unfair on the boy to be constantly asked about his future. He is clearly settled, is clearly developing and improving every season and the fact that clubs are falling over themselves to watch him would tell you that he is doing something right.

He is still only 20. There is a long road ahead for him so the best thing he can do is keep his head down and keep working and to be fair to him that is what he has managed to do, despite all the talk that seems to go on round about him all the time.

I have no doubt - and I mean that - that Celtic will already have turned bids down for Celtic. It was the same with Henrik Larsson during his time at the club. If you are a player of that ilk you more or less pick where you want to go and play football next.
