KENNY BURNS believes Jason Cummings should get another crack at Nottingham Forest.
The striker struggled to make an impact at the City Ground after moving from Hibernian last summer and spent the second half of the campaign at Rangers.
But Reds legend Burns reckons he should be given a chance to impress next term.
"I wouldn’t be averse to giving Jason Cummings more of a go, if he doesn’t end up signing for Rangers permanently that is," he told the Nottingham Post.
"He didn’t really get a chance last season. He played a bit here and there, but never really got a run of games - and that’s what you need as a striker, more so than other positions.
"I’m sure he’ll feel he still has a point to prove in England, so if he does come back he should be hungry and determined to do his best. He’ll know what he has to do.
"He’s got a bit of pace on him and a bit of sharpness and he knows where the back of the net is, which is what we need. He’s scored a few goals for Rangers, so hopefully that will have given his confidence a boost."
