DOUBTS have been expressed about Kenny Miller’s ability to combine playing with his first managerial role at Livingston this season.

But I think my old Rangers and Scotland team mate be absolutely fine.

Kenny is more than fit enough to play every week and I imagine he will be a like a captain/manager for the Almondvale club on the pitch and in the dressing room every week.

He has always been unafraid to express an opinion. Some people like that, some don’t. But in my view all winners have got something to say. I actually don’t think he will have to change all that much in his new role.

The only difference, in fact, will be in picking the team and speaking to players when they aren’t involved.

I think his back room staff will play a massive part in the set-up going forward. They will see a different game from the manager on the sidelines.

But Kenny still has far too much to offer as a player not to carry on.

He is very passionate about a team building play from the back, trying to create chances, score goals and perform in an attractive style. But his main objective will be to stay in the league.

I think he has a good enough squad as it is and will have enough good contacts in the game to be able to add quality to it.

I know management having been in charge of Kilmarnock in the past and expect Kenny Miller to do well at Livingston.
